BU50F5: FINANCIAL ANALYSIS (2016-2017)

Last modified: 28 Jun 2018 10:27

Course Overview

This subject requires a broadminded approach, focusing on questions that finance professionals need to answer. The course combines practical and profession-driven analytical techniques with a need to understand the assumptions being made in any standardised approach. The course will focus on “fundamental analysis”, delving into the complexity of how this fits with efficient markets. It builds your ability to analyse companies and appreciate the implications of financial performance for investors which require appropriate and differing approaches, whilst remembering that there are debt investors as well as equity investors. The financial analysis needs of stakeholders (customers, competitors) will also be considered.
