This course runs alongside Medical Education 3 and aims to further the knowledge and skills gained from PG Cert by using collective and organisational lenses to understand medical education.

The four course aims are as follows;
1. Understand the differing admissions/selection procedures in medical education and the potential impact these various approaches have on tomorrow’s doctors
2. Understand the issues around supporting and developing the individual (student and professional)
3. Understand the importance of incorporating collective/interprofessional learning theories in to the practice of medical education.
4. Be able to evaluate evidence in the areas covered and suggest/justify appropriate research methods to build the evidence in those areas.

Summative Assessments: Portfolio pieces, three 1500 words, on three workshop topics and how to develop these in the students own practice. (admissions/selection, developing the individual, remediation/failing doctors, complexity/collective learning)
