The course aims to provide an understanding of the theory of Marketing and Business Development as well as Marketing and Business Development practice in the workplace. On completion students will be able to:
Explain the different perspectives on the effective marketing and Business Development (M&BD); Understand the difference between strategic and tactical M&BD; Understand the how M&BD need to be adapted for different market settings; Evaluate the viability and contribution of different M&BD options in the marketplace; and Produce a Personal Development Plan for themselves (their organisation) as a reflective practitioner involved in M&BD.

Constructing Marketing Strategy and TacticsThis course is only open to those attending the Aberdeen Executive Partnership workshops. It permits those attending these workshops to obtain formal credit that can be utilised towards a named Masters Level award.

Description
To provide an understanding of the theory of marketing and business development practice in the workplace
Teaching:
Attendance at three 1-day Executive Workshops (timetable available from the Aberdeen Executive Partnership Co-ordinator).
Assessment
Students complete three reflective pieces (continuous) assessment: [1] A 1200 word piece (contributing 30% of the module marks); [2] A 1500 word piece (or equivalent video submission) contributing 40% of the course marks); [3] A 1500 word piece contributing 40% of the course marks).
In each assignment students reflect on what they have learnt about their own (and organisational) M&BD behaviour based on the material covered during the workshops.
