This course provides a detailed overview of oil and gas field development from discovery to abandonment with particular focus on the decisions made in each phases of the project. The roles of uncertainties, economics considerations, safety and environmental impact on the design choices are explored.

Continuous assessment (100%).
The continuous assessment will be based on a group design exercise on field development. Report on the group design (80%) and presentation (20%).
Resit: As this is a group exercise there is no resit opportunity. Students who do not achieve the minimum pass mark at the first attempt would have to re-do the course the academic following year.

a) Students can receive feedback on their progress with the Course on request at the weekly tutorial/feedback sessions and at the meeting of the design groups with the design supervisors.
b) Assessment grade and feedback comments will be provided on the interim design report.
c) Feedback on the oral presentation will be provided within one week of the presentation.
