Course Overview

The subsea production systems course has been developed to give students a detailed understanding of the business decisions as well as the specialist hardware required to develop subsea oil and gas production systems in challenging environments.  

 

The course addresses the technical issues related to engineering, development, and production of oil and gas in subsea fields around the world.  A close linkage to the subsea industry is ensured through industry experts participating in the course delivery.

Course Description

This course will introduce students to various aspects of Subsea production systems, including field architecture, Subsea hardware, Subsea project stages, and project management. Commissioning, start up and operation of subsea production systems will be covered together with new technology development and its introduction in the field.

Summative Assessments

60% 1 three hour examination + 40% Continuous Assessment (Group Project).

There are no assessments for this course.

Feedback

Students receive written feedback on their group project coursework.  Whole-class feedback is also provided via MyAberdeen.  A mock exam, with solutions, will be placed on MyAberdeen to give students the chance to self-assess their own performance.
