The students will work in groups with a supervisor to investigate a specific research question using a dataset of nutrition data provided for this purpose. Findings will be written up as a short scientific communication. This course will develop student research skills through literature review, data analysis and interpretation, oral presentation of the results and writing up results for publication.

This course will provide experience of the research process in the field of nutritional data analysis. You will be assigned a supervisor to guide you through this process, and a defined research question to answer. Following a review of the literature, you will be provided with a dataset generated from human dietary intervention study to interrogate using SPSS statistical software. You will have the opportunity to present your research as appropriate for a scientific audience, as well as develop your skills in interpreting the data and research writing.
