This course is part of the pre-sessional programme that helps international students meet their language conditions prior to going on to their UG/PG programmes. Level 3 takes students from IELTS 5-5.5 [B1 High] – B2 low

Course Description

This course is the third part of the PSE programme that helps international students meet the university’s English language conditions.

Coursework: 2 x read to write assessments. Students are required to read a number of texts and use the content to inform their writing. They are required to use intext citations and provide a full reference list.

Length: 1 x 350 words, 1 x 700 words

2x Paired tutorials: students are given discussion tasks to complete together on a topic that they have been working on in class.
1 x assessed seminar: Students are put into small groups. Prior to the seminar, each student within the group is given individual information which they must assess in relation to the seminar task. During the seminar students present the information that they have researched and this information is used to complete the seminar task.
