Course Overview

This course brings together all aspects of data science, from gathering data, to analysis and visualisation, by exploring real world applications of data science. There will be a discussion of some significant achievements of data science when applied to various areas from fundamental business practices to physics. Students will then apply these skills to a group project.

Course Description

This course synthesises the learning from the previous courses in MSc Data Science and emphasises how they can be applied to research, business and more. Through analysis of case studies selected from various areas, the applicability of techniques will be shown and their efficacy determined.

Finally students will undertake a team based project in applying their skills to a short form case study in data science. Their work will be presented in groups, and be accompanied by an individual analytical report.
