This course introduces the tools needed to analyse audio recordings, images and videos.
It will contain aspects of image enhancements, content detection, segmentation analysis (e.g. detecting tumours in medical imaging data), handwritten character recognition, subtitle analysis, and many other techniques.
For audio analysis these topics will be covered:
intro to audio signals, signal transforms and filtering, audio content classification, speech recognition, audio segmentation, alignment and temporal modelling
For image analysis the following topics will be covered:
digital image fundamentals, intensity transformation and spatial filtering, filtering in the frequency domain, image restoration and reconstruction, wavelets and other image transforms, image compression and watermarking, morphological image processing, image segmentation, feature extraction, pattern classification.
