This course offers an excellent introduction to the world of electronic music, not only from the academic, contemporary electronic music, but also from more commercial and underground noise music scenes that have thrived over the last several decades since the 1980s. It is a compositional course where students will learn how to make beeping and blipping, high pulse electronic music or gently sweeping ambient music using contemporary music technologies.

This composition course focuses on students to create electronic music that lives both in academic and commercial music scenes. Using state-of-the-art music technologies and software, students will learn how to prepare sound materials for both composition and live performance situations. The essential perspective that students are advised to have for this course is experimentalism in listening to sounds, prepare sound materials for composition, and deliver electronic music that pushes the limits of their own listening and music making habits.
