IB551M: THE LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE (ONLINE) (2023-2024)

Last modified: 23 Jul 2024 10:43

Course Overview

In this course, you will investigate the underlying theories that underpin the popular views about leadership, and discover why understanding your own leadership style, competency and behaviour is the key to encouraging followership. Throughout the course, you will gain a greater knowledge of your own leadership behaviours and capabilities in the context of your cultural and professional environment. You will carry out an analysis of your personality and leadership type before working to complete an online leadership simulation, the Everest Challenge, which requires you to plan and execute a survival strategy, using limited resources to overcome challenges. You will then explore a range of leadership case studies to explore how and why different decisions are made depending on situation, context and past experience. Towards the end of the course, you will consider your own professional development and look at future business trends.
