Course Overview

This course introduce students to the application of mindfulness and compassion to enhance mental and emotional wellbeing and resilience. Students will engage with a range of experiential practises and develop knowledge of the underlying principles, concepts and neurobiology within mindfulness and compassion. Students will then have opportunities to develop practical knowledge and understanding of mindful practises and how to apply them in their personal and professional environments.

Course Description

This course explores the application of mindfulness and compassion to enable us develop self-awareness to sustain our wellbeing.

Students will engage with a range of mindfulness and compassion experiential practises throughout the course, developing their practical knowledge and understanding.

In addition academic sessions will explore a range of mindfulness and compassion theories, principles, concepts and their underpinning science.

Students will explore the application and impact of mindfulness and compassion to a range of aspects of wellbeing, from emotional regulation, nature connection, stress, anxiety, self-care, depressive thinking, shame for example.

Reflective journalling will be used throughout the course to support the experiential learning and enable potential growth in personal self-awareness and wellbeing.

Students will engage with research on the implementation and impact of mindfulness and compassion in the workplace to support wellbeing
