The first part of the course provides an introduction to air pollution and control. It includes sources and effects of local and global air pollutants, and air pollution control technologies which includes modelling.
The second part of the course is concerned with water pollution and main aspects of public health engineering. The following topics are covered: water quality characteristics, water supply and distribution, sources of water pollution and modelling of their impacts on aqueous environment, and a comprehensive study of wastewater treatment technologies.
In the third part of the course, sustainable environmental management is introduced, including management of: groundwaters and solid wastes.
