Course Overview

This essay course gives you the opportunity to research and do extended writing on a topic of direct relevance to your postgraduate programme and to your own interests. You will develop specialist knowledge and refine your synthesis and evaluation skills.

You will choose your topic in discussion with your Programme Coordinator. You will have an essay supervisor who will provide you with feedback on your essay plan and provide comments on your draft essay.

Course Description

This is an independent review essay course, designed for students working towards a postgraduate Diploma. It provides an opportunity to do in-depth study on a topic of interest, which is chosen in discussion with the Programme Coordinator. An essay supervisor with appropriate expertise will be identified and will discuss the essay plan with the student and provide feedback on a draft and provide mentoring in relation to the subject area.  The essay is expected to be 5000 words (+/- 10%).
