Course Overview

Residential field course designed to provide you with training in field identification and sampling techniques in Cromarty.

Group based project work provides skills in team working, data collection, analysis and presentation.

Hard work throughout the days is rewarded through the development of deep understanding and the enjoyment of spending time with peers and staff.

Course Description

Includes training in the identification of animals and the methods needed to assess their population densities. Also includes group work, in which students choose an area of study and carry out a semi-independent project, including the collection of data, appropriate analysis and then reporting to the other course members on their findings. In the course of the field work, students will be helped to appreciate the interaction between the organisms and their habitat and the general features of the environment are also studied.

Students are required to purchase their evening meals.
