MSc International Business Management

It is suitable for recent graduates and early stage professionals from any background to help boost a career in business and management in today's globalised commercial world.

The world's economy is increasingly global. As a result, demand continues to grow for individuals who understand the global context of business. By specialising in international business, you are putting yourself in a more powerful, marketable position because a broad knowledge of the practice of business around the world is highly relevant, becoming increasingly valuable to employers.

The MBA (IBM Graduate Pathway) is an opportunity for all MSc International Business Management (IBM) graduates to earn an MBA by undertaking a further 90 credits of study. Students with or without MBA-qualifying work experience can apply. The pathway runs over 24 months to allow IBM Graduates to gain the required work experience while studying. Graduates with MBA-qualifying work experience can undertake a 12 month programme.

The Leadership Challenge (QB 5504)
This course provides an opportunity to explore and develop an understanding of your own leadership behaviour. Through workshops, group activities and discussions we investigate how personality, past experience, current situations and culture shape the way each of us behave in a leadership role. Using this information as a starting point we then explore how different leadership theories and approaches can be used as frameworks for developing a deeper understanding of leadership behaviour. Critical Studies Paper (QB 5903)
This course aims to allow students to bring together their knowledge, learning and understanding gathered from across the modules studied. Students are required to choose an appropriate topic, and place it in the context of an appropriate body of literature and identify key concepts, ideas and definitions pertaining to the topic and its development. Students will select appropriate methodology to support the paper and organize empirical and theoretical material observing relevant academic conventions. Operations and Project Management (QB 5008)
The focus of this course is not people but processes, not outside the organisation but within. Operations transform materials, information and customers to create goods and services using staff and facilities. We study process types and focus particularly on projects. We see how capacity and inventory reconcile demand and output and explore location, supply chains, quality, risk and resilience. Entry Requirements

This programme is open to graduates from any discipline and does not require business or management study to be completed at undergraduate level.

Our minimum entry requirement for this programme is a degree at 2:2 (lower second class) UK Honours level (or a degree from a non-UK institution which is judged by the University to be of equivalent worth).

To study for a Postgraduate Taught degree at the University of Aberdeen it is essential that you can speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
