Studying Psychology at Aberdeen Uni has been rewarding. Economics is my main focus, but after taking a Psychology course on the side, I switched to a joint degree in order to take the Psychology methods courses as well.

The knowledge I've gained from psychology theory is fascininating and applicable, for example, I find the Industrial Psychology course will be more useful to me in business than any business course I've taken.

However, more importantly for me, the methods courses got me familiar with academic research and gave me an ability to read literature which will allow me to forever stay up date on my knowledge of any field. Learning all you can about a field in university and then going into a career to practice that knowledge is one thing, but being able to keep up with an ever changing understanding of psychology, or even economics is what would separate a good psychologist or a good economist from a great one.

For the last two years I've been impressed and satisfied by the quality of education provided by School of Psychology at Aberdeen Uni, which makes me even more honoured to be awarded the Anderson Prize.

I've now switched back to a single honours degree in Economics. I will be leaving the School of Psychology, not because it did not satisfy, but because I am now ready to focus on Economics with the skills I did not know I needed before. I will always deeply appreciate of the School of Psychology for this.

Thank you.
