Biography
My research focuses on Black migrant and diaspora lived experiences in Scotland through the lens of art and creative practices. How do Black artists explore themes of alienation, displacement, home-building, identity, and resistance through their creative practice; imagining just, sustainable, and decolonised futures.
My interdisciplinary theoretical approach takes an affective and embodiment lens and builds on work in politics of immigration, race in Scotland, Black climate justice and decolonial activism, and geographies of (un)belonging.
I am undertaking this research with the supervision of Dr Nour Halabi, Dr Rebecca Macklin, and Dr Joseph Pierce.
