Biography

I am a postgraduate researcher at the University of Aberdeen. Before joining the Anthropology team in Aberdeen, I worked as an instructor and supervisor in sociology and cultural studies departments, translated ethnographic works, and travelled extensively in northern and steppe regions of the world.

My general interest area lies at the intersection of anthropology, history, and philosophy with a regional focus on Inner Asia and the Circumpolar North. In my doctoral research, I explore the questions about nomadic mobility and its role in shaping the landscape as well as its relation to people's beliefs and imagination. The aim of my research effort is to help uncover and understand the history of nomadic peoples and their place in the narrative of human civilization.
