As a BHF funded clinical research fellow at the University of Aberdeen , I am part of a multidisciplinary team that aims to uncover the biological mechanisms and therapeutic targets of oral and systemic diseases. My current project, funded by the British Heart Foundation, focuses on investigating the role of phase variations in driving myocardial infarction, a leading cause of death worldwide.
I have a strong background in oral sciences, having completed my MSc from the University of Glasgow with distinction, where I worked on integrating metabolomics workflow in uncovering the theranostic targets of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, a highly aggressive and heterogeneous cancer. I also have a bachelor's degree in dentistry from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, where I gained clinical and research experience in various aspects of oral health and disease.
My core competencies include NGS, Genome Scale Metabolic Modelling, Big data analysis and Good clinical research practice. I am passionate about advancing the scientific knowledge and improving the clinical outcomes of patients with oral and systemic diseases, and aspire to become a leading researcher and academic in this field.
