Biography
Rebecca Bruce (Nee Whiting), better known as Becky, joined the Unit in December 2014 as a data co-ordinator/secretary. She is responsible for inputting, retrieving and maintaining data, along with other secretarial duties relating to the trials. Becky previously worked in the R&D Office, NHS Grampian and associated with the administration of the NHS Grammpian Endowment Grants.
Becky previously worked on IQuaD A randomised controlled trial comparing oral hygiene advice and periodontal instrumentation for the prevention and management of periodontal disease in dentate adults attending dental primary care and HEALTH A multicentre randomised controlled trial comparing laparoscopic supra-cervical hysterectomy with second generation endometrial ablation for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding. She also provided support on SIMS Adjustable Anchored Single-Incision Mini-Slings Versus Standard Tension-Free Mid-Urethral Slings in the Surgical Management Of Female Stress Urinary Incontinence; A Pragmatic Multicentre Non–Inferiority Randomised Controlled Trial.
Becky is currently working on the following trials:
FUTURE Female urgency, Trial of Uodynamics as routine evaluation; a superiorty randomised clinical trial to evaluate the effectiveness of invasive urodynamic investigations in management of women with refractory overactive bladder symptoms.
C-GALL A randomised controlled trial comparing laparoscopic cholecystectomy with observation/conservative management for preventing recurrent symptoms and complications in adults with uncomplicated symptomatic gallstones
Becky is part of the Public Engagement Team which comprises of staff from varies disiplines who are committed to making our research both relevant and accessible, as well as excellent. They organise activities which are presenteds at public events to help demistify envolvemnet in research to the genreal public.
