Biography
Oana graduated from Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with a BSc (Honours) in Psychology and an MSc in Health Psychology. In 2021 she completed a PhD at Doctoral School of Applied Cognitive Psychology, BabeČ™-Bolyai University, focusing on understanding and overcoming psychosocial barriers to organ donation. During her PhD, she was a teaching assistant for “The Experimental Psychology and Data Analysis”, “Introduction in Qualitative Research Methods”, and “Health Psychology” undergraduate courses. From 2012 to 2021, she was a research assistant in the Health Psychology Laboratory, Cluj-Napoca, working on a series of international and national research grants on health topics (e.g., prevention of child mental health problems and risk health-related behaviours, self-management of urinary incontinence, vaccination, self-regulation of eating).
Oana is currently a Research Fellow at the Rowett Institute, Aberdeen, working on a Scottish Government RESAS-funded project (2022-2027) aiming to optimise approaches to changing food practice and eating behaviour in low-income populations via social prescribing to reduce health inequalities.
