Biography
Lecturer and geological researcher specialising in critical mineral deposits for the Energy Transition. Programme Director for the Sustainable Energy Geoscience (SEG) MSc. Highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research approach and always open to new lines of collaboration across Schools.
Interdisciplinary research experience includes published works with colleagues in life sciences, chemistry, environmental science and geography, with projects on-going with researchers in engineering and space exploration.
I have significant experience planning and conducting fieldwork, particularly within the UK and Ireland. I am enthusiastic about field teaching and have l been involved in numerous undergraduate and postgraduate fieldtrips. I have also led various day trips for local societies.
Extensive inorganic geochemistry research experience, including whole rock ICP-MS, stable isotopes, LA-ICP-MS, SEM, p-XRF, XRD, fluid inclusions and Raman spectroscopy.
