Biography
Ian has a background in software development, initially working as a Software Developer building Learning Environments for the University of Aberdeen’s healthcare programmes, before moving into development management and leadership.
He currently leads the Directorate of Digital & Information Services, which delivers IT, library and university collections services to all staff and students.

Independent Board Member, UHI Perth
I am an independent board member for the Board of Management at UHI Perth, a Higher and Further Education institution. In addition to sitting on the board, I am also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and a member of the board of Air Service Training (Engineering) Limited.
Secretary, Pride @ BCS Special Interest Group
I deliver the day-to-day administration for the LGBTQIA+ special interest group for the British Computer Society (BCS) including minuting and organizing meetings, working with the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and other committee members.
