Interdisciplinary Research Development Executive

Biography

Emma joined Research and Innovation (R&I) in 2020 and provides research development support to the University’s newly created Interdisciplinary Centres, working with academics across all Schools to develop our portfolio of interdisciplinary research areas.

Emma has multi-disciplinary experience of working within higher education institutions and the third sector, including significant experience of fostering national and international partnership links, project management, and attracting and managing grant funding.

As a Research Development Executive within R&I and a member of the Aberdeen Grants Academy, Emma is available to discuss interdisciplinary funding opportunities (both internal (pump prime) and external), helps to promote the research capabilities/expertise and proactively seeks opportunities to increase the number, value and success rate of funding applications. She manages the process involved in submitting interdisciplinary applications to external funding bodies and supports contract negotiations to ensure the University’s, and its staff’s, interests and rights are protected.
