EU-Russia energy relations discussed at University-organised conference

An attempt to find new ways of shaping EU-Russia energy relations will be the subject of a major European conference co-organised by the University of Aberdeen.

The conference’s objective is to ‘depoliticise’ the debate on how to secure the supply of Russian energy resources to the EU whilst guaranteeing a stable demand for Russian energy from the European market.

The conference is part of a programme celebrating the 400 years relationship between the Russian Federation and the Netherlands and will take place at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands on 30-31 May.

The concept for the event is based on the academic initiative of Dr Anatole Boute of the University of Aberdeen Centre for Energy Law.

This conference follows the Energy Forum that will be held on 29 May in Groningen.
