Key urban design issues which face cities today and the impact of these issues on land economy and property is the theme of the annual Ryden Lecture to be given at the University of Aberdeen, King’s College Conference Centre on Wednesday 25 October at 7.00pm. The event is organised jointly by Ryden International Property Consultants and the University of Aberdeen’s Department of Land Economy.
The Lecture will be given by Professor Brian Evans of Gillespies, a multi-disciplinary practice of Urban Designers, Architects and Landscape Architects who have offices in Glasgow, Manchester, Oxford, South-East Asia and Australia.
Professor Evans lectures widely and is artistic professor of urban design at Chalmers University School of Architecture in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has carried out a number of major projects for both public and private clients at both city and regional level for Local Authorities, Government Agencies and blue-chip companies across the UK and Europe.
Gillespies are lead consultant on the preparation of an Aberdeen Urban Realm Strategy for the Aberdeen City Centre Partnership.
Attendance at the Lecture is free of charge and a reception will follow in the James Mackay Hall, King’s College Conference Centre.
