Stem cell discussion at Aberdeen

The latest in a series of discussions about stem cell research takes place at the University of Aberdeen on Monday (April 3).

Monday’s event will be the second of four presentations organised by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) in conjunction with the Scottish Stem Cell Network.

These aim to explore current technical, ethical and social issues with RSA Fellows, invited young people and interested individuals.

Professor Neva Haites, Head of the University’s College of Life Sciences and Medicine, will discuss the use of embryos for stem cell derivation and associated ethical issues in dialogue with David Laing, Chairman of Ledingham Chalmers and Fellow of the RSA.

The event takes place at Level 7 within the University’s Institute of Medical Sciences at Foresterhill and begins at 6pm.

To book a place, call Liza Young on 01224 559241.
