Lisa fast-tracked for successful future

From setting up the University's first student ice-skating society to co-founding a student team that has designed and built its own hydrogen-powered car, Lisa Rossi has packed a lot into her time at the University of Aberdeen.

The MEng Chemical Engineering graduate helped set up PrototAU, a team based at the School of Engineering that competes in the annual Shell-Eco Marathon, a major global competition that challenges students to design, build and test energy-efficient cars, pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible.

In addition, she is team leader for a group of students who are among the top 20 teams in the UK aiming to reach the final of the Royal Academy of Engineering's Global Grand Challenge student competition.

Lisa, who is from Rome, is now planning to undertake an MPhil in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management at the University of Cambridge.

Looking back on her time in Aberdeen, she said: “Studying at the University of Aberdeen was really fulfilling, and I was able to experience all the University has to offer while studying towards my degree.  I love Scotland, and in particular the beautiful landscapes...and ceilidhs!”
