University and Aberdeen City Council announce fully funded Maths courses for city residents

The University of Aberdeen is offering fully funded places on two Maths courses for over 16s living in Aberdeen City.

The online courses will be funded with support of the UK Government through Aberdeen City Council’s ABZ Works and Multiply programme – a government initiative  to help adults across the UK improve their functional numeracy skills through free personal tutoring, digital training, and flexible courses.

The two courses offered—Access Course in Maths SCQF Level 5 (National 5-equivalent) and Access Course in Maths SCQF Level 6 (Higher-equivalent)—provide tailored educational pathways for those seeking foundational or advanced mathematical understanding.

Applications for funding are open now, and will be accepted until Friday, November 15. Applicants must be aged 16+ and domiciled in Aberdeen City. You cannot apply if you’re currently in secondary education.

Rob Cummins, Head of Online Education at the University of Aberdeen, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Aberdeen based adults looking to improve their numeracy skills via a flexible, online course.

“We expect that these courses will prove popular and would encourage anyone interested in applying to do so as soon as possible before applications close on 15 November.”
