Professor Emerita of Biochemical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Heather Wallace was awarded Honorary membership of EUROTOX at the EUROTOX 2023 Congress in Ljubljana, Slovenia earlier this month.
EUROTOX is the federation of all 37 societies of toxicology across Europe. Its mission is to support education and training in toxicology and promote the discipline across Europe.
Professor Heather Wallace has been part of the EUROTOX Executive Committee since 2012, President of the 2014 Congress and ran EUROTOX 2014 in Edinburgh which was the 50th Anniversary Congress and the largest held up to that time.
Professor Wallace who has been in the presidential chain from 2016 to 2023 said of receiving the Honorary membership: “I am delighted to receive this award and it has been an honour for me to be part of the EUROTOX family and to work with EUROTOX for the last 11 years.
“My efforts in EUROTOX have been to promote education and training and establish collaborations with our sister societies to strengthen toxicology worldwide. I hope to continue to work alongside EUROTOX colleagues to achieve this for many years to come.”
