Theophil Romward, 32, graduates today with a PhD in Law.
Delighted with his achievement, Theophil, from Tanzania, said he is ‘one of the luckiest people on earth’ to receive his Doctorate after 3 years of research into mining and investment law.
Already a practising Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam, Theophil decided that he wanted to continue to study so he could not only improve his own knowledge but also help with supervising his own students in Tanzania.
Theophil said: “I loved every moment at the University of Aberdeen. My supervision team was excellent, in fact all, of the staff at the Law School were superb - welcoming and ready to help whenever I needed it.
“When choosing a university, I saw that the University of Aberdeen is a hub of natural resources and with my research area being mining and investment law, the University of Aberdeen was a perfect choice for me.
“Studying there, I consider myself one of the luckiest people on earth.”
The first in his family to attend University, Theophil is looking forward to applying his new-found knowledge to his current career in academia and aspires to make a positive impact on society.
