Rachael Watson, Centre for Primary Care, Institute of Population Health, University of Manchester, will be visiting the Unit on the 9th December 2014.
Rachael is starting a PhD around business methods and trials, with a focus on recruitment and will be visiting to discuss how her work could link to related work being done in Aberdeen by Jing Cai, Rosalind Rae, Shaun Treweek and others involved in the Health Organisation, Management and Economics Research (HOMER) Network led by Lorna McKee. How trials can learn from business also fits with Trial Forge (http://www.trialforge.org), an initiative led by Aberdeen to improve trial efficiency. Rachael will also be meeting some trial managers from the Centre for Healthcare Randomised Trials (CHaRT) to learn more about how randomised trials are managed. Rachael’s visit will be hosted by Professor Shaun Treweek.
