The University of Aberdeen has appointed Professor Jeremy Kilburn as new Senior Vice-Principal.
Professor Kilburn is currently Vice-Principal & Executive Dean (Science & Engineering) at Queen Mary University of London and previously held senior management roles at the University of Southampton. He will take up the position on March 1, 2015.
Welcoming his new colleague, Professor Sir Ian Diamond, Principal and Vice-Chancellor said: “I know colleagues will join me in congratulating Jeremy on his appointment.
"I very much look forward to working with him as we implement our new Strategic Plan and progress our ambitious plans for our University.”
Professor Kilburn added: “I am thrilled to be taking up the post of Senior Vice-Principal at the University of Aberdeen and delighted to have the opportunity to work at such an historic and progressive university.
"I am looking forward to meeting colleagues and learning much more about the terrific work that goes on across the University. And of course to moving up with my family to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK!”
Professor Kilburn succeeds Professor Stephen Logan who retires on January 31 after 21 years of tremendous service to the University.
