'The Textual tradition of Stair's Institutions': New research on mansucript culture of Scottish law

Just published in the Stair Society Miscellany VII (2015) is CEMS member Adelyn Wilson's study of the textual transmission of the Institutions of the Laws of Scotland, a key work of Scottish law. This important new research examines the nature of the manuscript tradition, taking account of scribal practice and the circulation of manuscript texts in the seventeenth century. The work formed part of Dr Wilson's Hunter Caldwell Award-funded research and draws on the latest inter-discipliniary techniques for the study of manuscripts.
