Detecting age-related macular degeneration early: new diagnostic accuracy study

A new study - EDNA (Early Detection of Neovasular Age-related macular degeneration), funded by the National Institute for Health Research, is looking at the best tests to detect neovascular or "wet" age-related macular degeneration (AMD) early.

Three researchers from HSRU, Prof Craig Ramsay, Dr Katie Banister and Graham Scotland and the clinical trials team within CHaRT are collaborating with researchers at Queen’s University Belfast, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Royal Liverpool University Hospital and University of Oxford on the EDNA study which starts this month.
