Postgraduate prospects highlighted at Open Day

Hundreds of prospective postgraduate students are expected to descend on the University of Aberdeen next week (Saturday November 2) as the institution hosts its annual Postgraduate Open Day.

Enhanced careers prospects and potential higher earnings will just be some of the benefits of postgraduate study highlighted at the event which takes place in the MacRobert Building at the University’s King’s College Campus from 12 — 3.30pm.

Visitors will be able to learn more about the vast range of postgraduate opportunities offered by the University which includes over 120 taught postgraduate courses, a wide selection of research programmes and Continued Professional Development courses.

Talks on key topics such as postgraduate funding and the benefits of postgraduate study will take place over the course of the day, and attendees will also have the chance to participate in campus tours of the historic King’s campus and Aberdeen Sports Village.

Carol Baverstock, Head of Admissions, University of Aberdeen said: “In the current economic climate postgraduate study is also a strong option in providing a means for people to up skill or retrain.”

“Whether you are considering undertaking a Masters which will lead you into your chosen profession or a Continued Professional Development (CPD) course on a part time basis to enhance your current career, the Postgraduate Open Day is an opportunity to review the options available at the University.

“The event will provide visitors with detailed insights into all aspect of postgraduate studies, from the application process through to finances.  Current and former students and key members of academic staff from across all disciplines will also be on hand to offer crucial advice and guidance.”
