Professor Ray Ogden, who recently joined the School as 6th Century Chair in Solid Mechanics, has been awarded the prestigious 2010 William Prager Medal by the Society of Engineering Science (SES) for "outstanding research contributions in theoretical solid mechanics".
The medal was presented to Ray at the 47th Annual Meeting of the SES held at Iowa State University in early October, during which Ray gave a plenary lecture.
