Three Aberdeen primary school classes are celebrating after winning a school visit by Edinburgh Zoo Wild Bus.
Hanover Street Primary 5, Hazlehead Primary 6 and Culter Primary 7 all won an Amazing Animals contest organised by the University of Aberdeen’s Natural History Centre.
Primary five, six and seven pupils were challenged to choose an animal that interests them, explain why in a poem and create a poster featuring the creature.
Marie Fish, Education Officer at the Natural History Centre, “We had a great response to our competition with around 250 entries from 10 city primary schools.
“The standard of posters was really impressive - children had really researched their animals and found out all sorts of interesting facts about them to include in their poems.
“All the posters are on display, next to the relevant animals, in the University’s Zoology Museum and the public are welcome to come and have a look.
“We really hope our winners really enjoy their Edinburgh Zoo Wild Bus visit.”
