Overall £8,000 was awarded to fund programme workshops, meetings, exhibitions, and other events (in part). Applications were invited from colleagues, not in receipt of theme funds.
Each North programme received £1,500 towards workshop costs, with two thousand pounds allocated between colleagues,who hadsubmitted modest proposals for the Board's consideration.
Three proposals were selected for funding:
- Dr Frances Wilkins, (Lecturer, Researcher and Performer) - visiting Lecturer in Ethnomusicology and Scottish Music, from the Department of Music, University of Aberdeen organised workshops and performances by two Cree musicians and key tradition bearers, from Moose Factory - James and Daisy Cheechoo in May 2013.
- A symposium: War and Warfare in Northern Europe, 1550-1721 held by Professor Robert I Frost, Burnett Fletcher Chair in History, Department of History, University of Aberdeen on 2 March 2013. Brought together established and young scholars, working on northern Europe’s military history.
- A two day workshop/conference: Chapel in the North: function, legal and ecclesiastical status and use of chapels in medieval Scotland, Norway, Ireland and England. Organised by Professor Stefan Brink, Sixth Century Chair of Scandinavian Studies, University of Aberdeen. Brings together leading experts in chapels and medieval religious practices on 10 and 11 June 2013.
