Aberdeen Human geographers present research in Hawai'i

Human geographers Paula Duffy, Flurina Wartmann and Kirsten Gow attended the AAG Conference in Honolulu last week contributing to sessions with their papers on solar planning, nature recovery and return migration, respectively.

Three people standing in front of greeneryThe researchers engaged with diverse sessions and research including on indigenous rights and stewardship, multispecies justice, energy transition and sustainability, as well as island research. 

Paula and Kirsten embraced the opportunity to connect with local communities and their community led action on land rights, cultural stewardship, and environmental restoration during a cultural site access at the militarised sacred site of Mākua.
