Two prestigious scholarships available on MSc Sustainability Transitions for January 2024

The Department of Geography & Environment is happy to announce that there are two prestigious scholarships available on MSc Sustainability Transitions - one of the University of Aberdeen's flagship sustainability programmes.

The scholarships are provided by the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) (https://www.sustainableaquaculture.com/) who offers funding opportunities for students interested in the sustainability of Scottish aquaculture. MSc Sustainability Transitions is one of the programmes officially approved by SAIC. The scholarships are available for the January 2024 intake.

The SAIC scholarships cover full tuition fees and are available to students who:

- Meet the SFC (Scottish Funding Council) Scottish domicile requirements (i.e. who have been living in Scotland for the last three years for reasons other than education), and

- Wish to dedicate their final research projects to an issue relevant to Scottish aquaculture (subject to SAIC’s approval).

The SAIC scholarships are an excellent funding opportunity for those students who wish to contribute to the development of the Scottish economy and kick-start their sustainability-related career. It is also a very rare funding opportunity in these uncertain times.

The MSc Sustainability Transitions programme is designed to train the future generation of experts who have the passion and ambition to deliver on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and become true sustainability leaders. The need to make the world a healthy, safe and sustainable place is stronger than ever before. However, there is still a shortage of innovators and thinkers who could make it happen. Our programme aims to address this gap.

You can find more information about the programme on our official website: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/postgraduate-taught/degree-programmes/82/sustainability-transitions/

You can find more about SAIC here: https://www.sustainableaquaculture.com/

Please contact the Programme Director Dr Piotr Niewiadomski (p.niewiadomski@abdn.ac.uk) if you are interested in applying.
