The Literary Lights Prize for Creative Writing, which is supported by The Grassic Gibbon Centre has opened for entries from all registered students of the University of Aberdeen.
Lewis Grassic Gibbon is one of the foremost writers of ecofiction, dramatizing the positive influence of nature on human life. This competition invites entries in either fiction or non-fiction that explore in some way the significance of nature in our lives. Entries are invited from any currently registered student at the University of Aberdeen. Here are the details:
- Entries are free, but no more than two pieces may be submitted
- The prize is £100 for the best submission as judged by the panel
- The length of each entry must not exceed 3000 words
- Entries must be original and not previously published
- The closing date for entries is 30th November 2023
All entries should be sent to a.lumsden@abdn.ac.uk and must include an email address and Student ID number. Entries are judged anonymously and no correspondence will be entered into. Submissions will not be returned.
