University of Aberdeen appoints New Lecturer in Structural Design

The University of Aberdeen has appointed a new senior lecturer in Engineering specialising in Structural Design. Paul Davidson (39), joins the University from Imperial College, London where he was a lecturer in Engineering Structures for ten years.

Looking forward to his new role, Paul Davidson says:

“The Oil and Gas Industry in the North Sea and Atlantic Frontier is driving the development of world leading technical expertise in the UK. The Oil and Gas Institute of the University of Aberdeen has been set up to facilitate this development and I am pleased to add my own structural engineering background - in marine and offshore steel structures, covering ships plating, floating offshore structures and blast wells - to the existing strengths of the OGI.”

The move brings Paul back to his native Aberdeen. He is a former pupil of Robert Gordon’s College and graduated with a BSc(Eng) in Engineering Science from Aberdeen University in 1979.
