Joblink - the Student Employment Service for students at the University of Aberdeen - will host its third Jobs Fair on Wednesday, September 29, at the Student Union building on Gallowgate from 2pm.
Organisers expect a good turn-out from students, ranging from those just starting their University life to those returning to the city for another year of study. The last event, which was held in April, saw an attendance of more than 300 students.
The types of companies recruiting staff at the event will be from a wide variety of backgrounds, including hotel and catering, retail, manual and security and many more. Included at the fair will be a stand for the Student Union at Aberdeen University, which provides employment for around 100 students throughout the course of the academic year.
Joblink Manager Tracey Price said the aim of the event is to link the students with part-time work opportunities through the term-time. Joblink advises students to work a maximum of 15 hours per week to ensure that this does not interfere with their study time.
“In addition to this, many of the companies in attendance will be recruiting for Christmas Staff, so a number of students will be able to increase their hours of work during the festive period and the Millennium celebrations,” she said.
“This event will prove to be an essential part of the recruitment process for companies in attendance and is provided at no charge thanks to the unique sponsorship of Joblink by Scottish Brewers.”
