Parents Invited to Hear about The University of Aberdeen
The University of Aberdeen is holding a parents’ evening in Inverness on Wednesday, March 15th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm in the Town House. This is an opportunity for parents of prospective students to ask questions, meet members of the staff, and to find out about the University of Aberdeen and student life in Aberdeen.
Over 900 parents attended last year’s series of parents’ evenings, which will be held again this year in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Perth, Dundee, and Glasgow as well as Inverness. These evenings were very well received and have now become an annual event. Hosted by senior academic staff, parents hear about finance, accommodation, the admissions process and general welfare issues, and from students who share their experiences of the University.
Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions Services, Lori Manders said: “Parents often want information that is different from what the average 17 or 18 year old may request. Research from the Institute of Employment Studies shows that parents are influential in the decision-making process. Many parents visit the University with their sons and daughters on Open Days and call for advice. We delighted to extend our service to those parents who perhaps were not able to visit us, through this series of events across Scotland.”
The host for the evening on Wednesday, March 15th will be Dr. Colin Milton, Deputy Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions Services.
