The Department of Divinity at the University of Aberdeen has been given a boost with the publication of a UK-wide university league table in yesterday’s Guardian (Tuesday, May 22).
Aberdeen was placed third in the newspaper’s Top 20 departments of divinity in the UK, just below Cambridge, which was second, and the School of Oriental and African Studies, which was first.
Professor Ian Torrance, Head of the Department of Divinity, said that he was delighted with University’s achievement.
He said: “This is the result of years of hard work, and imaginative rethinking of courses and structures by the team here.”
These latest figures follow the announcement in last week’s The Times Good University Guide that the University was now ranked nineteenth in the UK, and third in Scotland.
