Aberdeen City Council is the first to subscribe to an innovative professional development card which is being launched by the University of Aberdeen.
The City Council is the first to receive the Prospect CPD Card which will bring them the latest in training and development for their staff, plus access to a range of services from the University.
Prospect CPD is the University's continuing professional development enterprise, launched by the celebrated film producer and passionate advocate of lifelong learning Lord Puttnam earlier this year.
Jane McDonald, Director of Prospect CPD, said: "This is an exciting development for the University. The Prospect CPD Card is the first of its kind in the UK and reflects the University's commitment to strengthen our links with local business and the community.
"I am delighted that Aberdeen City Council have signed up for membership. Their support is a testament to the benefits that the Prospect CPD Card offers and I look forward to welcoming them - and all new members - to the University."
Subscribing to the card will allow companies to develop a relationship with the University of Aberdeen and benefit from the following:
- CPD lunch events held four times a year with ideas and presentations from key researchers and thinkers within the university
- Annual conference addressing current issues and priorities in continuing professional development
- Corporate membership to the University Library Service
- Corporate membership to the University Sport and Recreational Service

The options for the Card range from Class A membership which costs £3,000 to Class D membership at £1,900. All members of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce are entitled to a 10% discount.
