The University of Aberdeen will host a parents' information evening at the University campus on Monday, March 11, from 6.30-8.45pm in the auditorium at King's College Conference Centre. The evening will provide parents of prospective students with an opportunity to ask questions, meet members of staff, and to find out about the University of Aberdeen and student life in the city.
The success of these evenings has made them an important annual event. Over 1,000 parents attended last year's series of parent's evenings, which will again be held this year in Perth, Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
Professor Dominic Houlihan, Vice-Principal (Research & Commercialisation), will introduce the evening with an overview of the University and its academic strengths. Parents will also learn about the all important admissions process, student funding and also from students who will share their own experiences of life at the University.
Director of Marketing, Lori Manders, said: "Parents often want information that is different from what the average 17 or 18 year olds may request. Research has shown that parents are influential in the decision-making process. Many parents visit the University with their sons and daughters on Open Days and call us for advice."
