Entrance Bursaries to support their studies
Two weeks left to apply - deadline 31st March
Undergraduates beginning their studies in September 2002 are encouraged to apply for the Entrance Bursaries offered by the University of Aberdeen.
Each year, the University awards more than 60 Bursaries and Scholarships of £1,000 for each year of study, successful applicants stand to benefit by between £3,000 and £5,000, depending on the length of their course.
In session 2002-3, the University will award: 15 Prince of Wales Scholarships (funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland) 10 Alumni Annual Fund Bursaries (funded by donations by graduates) 30 Open Bursaries for applicants with very good qualifications from school, college or elsewhere
Lori Manders, Director of Marketing, said: “For all our awards, the University is looking for applicants with good academic potential. In addition, for the Prince of Wales Scholarships and the Alumni Annual Fund Bursaries, we look closely at applicants' financial and personal circumstances, and seek to help those who might otherwise have difficulty meeting the costs of degree study."
Entrance Bursaries are available to students in all degree courses. To be considered, a candidate needs to have applied to Aberdeen, and to be awarded a Bursary or Scholarship, must have been offered and accepted a place at the University. Awards are made by a Bursary Panel, chaired by one of the University's Vice-Principals. The closing date for applications is March 31, 2002.
